MAUNG DI

Maung Di (Myo Nyunt) Born to U Mya Thiee and Daw Ohn Pyaing, at Thayettaw Village, Myitchay, Pakokku District, in 1941. Childhood name is Myo Nyunt. Started drawing since Young. Worked as a cartoonist at Bahosi Newspaper, Mandalay from 1959 to 1962. In 1962 came to Yangon and worked as an illustrator in various magazines under the name of Myo Nyunt from 1959 to 1995. Studies fine art at State School of fine Arts, Yangon from 1967 to 1970. Started showing at an exhibition at Alliance Francais of France Embassy in Yangon, in 1969. Started using the name of Maung Di for paintings and writing in 1969. Then, other group shows with early Burmese contemporary modern artists. Written poems, short stories and articles in various magazines from 1969 to 1995.
